Who it's for
The hOmeLabs is the right pick for a couple or for someone who cooks large meals regularly. If you go through 5 to 6 place settings of dishes per day and don't want to run two cycles, this is the only countertop model that handles it in one.
The wider footprint (21 inches) means you need more counter space. Measure before you buy. It won't fit in very small kitchens where space is tight.
Cleaning and drying
Cleaning results on the Normal cycle are solid. With 6 settings loaded, we saw about 90% full clean on our test load. The spray arm coverage is slightly weaker per slot than the Farberware because it has to cover a larger rack area. Still, for everyday dishes, it performs well.
The heated dry is a real bonus. Plastic items come out dry, which is unusual for a countertop model. Most countertop units only have air dry.
Noise and water use
We measured 55 dB during the Normal cycle. Mid-range in our group. Water use is 3.8 gallons on Normal, the highest of the five. That's the trade-off for extra capacity.
Verdict
If you need 6 place settings in a countertop unit, the hOmeLabs is the only real option. It cleans well, dries with heat, and holds more dishes than anything else in this class. For a solo user, the Farberware or COMFEE is a better fit at a lower price.
